Conditions

Last updated: 7 September 2025
Every artist has a process for booking appointments and a specific way of working. These terms and conditions outline Andrés Acosta’s studio policies and expectations so that every client understands the commitment involved. Andrés reserves the right to refuse service to anyone who does not adhere to these terms.
1. Deposits & Booking
-
Non‑refundable deposit: A deposit is required to secure your appointment. When multiple days are booked, a separate deposit is required for each day reserved. Deposits will be credited toward the final cost of your tattoo and compensate the artist for time spent on scheduling and preparation.
-
Why deposits are important: Deposits ensure clients honour their appointments and help offset lost time when a booking is cancelled at the last minute.
-
Rescheduling: If you need to reschedule, contact the studio at info@acostattoo.com at least one month before your appointment to avoid fees. Requests made less than one week before your appointment will incur a $100 rescheduling fee.
-
Cancellations & no‑shows: Failing to show up or cancelling without sufficient notice results in forfeiture of your deposit. A new deposit will be required to secure another date.
-
Payment method: Deposits sent via PayPal, Venmo, CashApp, Apple Pay or other services as “gifts” or through “friends & family” are still non‑refundable.
-
Official channels only: All appointments must be arranged through this website. Do not send deposits through social media or unverified email accounts. Only messages from info@acostattoo.com or assistant@acostattoos.com and andres@acostattoo.com should be trusted.
-
Extraordinary circumstances: In exceptional cases, deposit refunds may be considered at Andrés’s discretion.
2. Design & Artistic Freedom
-
Original work: All tattoos created by Andrés are one of a kind. He never replicates the same design twice.
-
Project details: Once your concept is approved and your deposit has been paid, your description, reference images, placement photos and estimated session count are saved for your appointment.
-
Artistic freedom: Andrés accepts projects only when clients embrace his artistic vision. While your input is welcome, the final design will reflect his unique style and expertise.
-
Design process: Designs are developed the day before your session. Andrés may reach out to clarify details or brainstorm ideas at this stage.
-
Viewing the design: A rendered image of your design will be shown on the day of your first appointment. Minor adjustments can be discussed, but major changes or rejection of the design may lead to cancellation of your session and forfeiture of your deposit.
3. Session Estimates & Additional Sessions
-
Initial estimate: At the time of booking, Andrés provides an estimate of how many sessions your tattoo may require based on size, complexity and location.
-
Variability: The actual number of sessions can be greater or fewer than the estimate, depending on factors such as skin type, healing and design intricacy.
-
Adjustments: If more sessions are needed than originally quoted, Andrés will discuss options to ensure the workload and cost remain fair for everyone.
4. Rescheduling & Cancellations
-
Notice period: To reschedule without penalty, notify the studio at least one month before your appointment.
-
Late rescheduling: Requests made within one week of the appointment will incur a $100 rescheduling fee.
-
Forfeiture: Missing your appointment or cancelling without adequate notice will result in forfeiture of your deposit, and a new deposit will be required to book another date.
-
Carrying over deposits: Deposits may be applied to a new date if rescheduled within the specified timeframe; however, repeated reschedules may result in the deposit being forfeited at the artist’s discretion.
5. Ghosted Projects & Project Continuation
-
Projects on hold: If you pause your project for more than one year, additional sessions may be necessary due to changes in your skin or the ageing of unfinished work.
-
Artist’s discretion: Andrés reserves the right to decline the continuation of projects that were abandoned for extended periods.
6. Client Behavior & Conduct
-
Respect & courtesy: Clients are expected to be respectful, courteous and maintain a positive attitude while in the studio.
-
Sobriety: You must arrive sober; no alcohol or recreational drugs for at least 24 hours prior to your appointment. If a client appears intoxicated, Andrés has the right to cancel the appointment and retain the deposit.
7. Visitors & Companions
-
Waiting area: You may bring a companion for support, but they must wait in the designated waiting area.
-
Tattoo area access: Only the person receiving the tattoo is allowed in the tattooing area to ensure a focused and hygienic environment.
8. Large Projects & Sleeves
-
Time commitment: Sleeve and other large‑scale tattoos can require between 60 and 100 hours, depending on arm size and design complexity.
-
Limited availability: Andrés accepts a limited number of sleeve projects each year. He typically begins with a large area—such as the shoulder to elbow—so the design flows naturally and future work can be integrated smoothly.
9. Payment & Fees
-
Session fees: Payment for each session is due on the day of your appointment. Your deposit will be deducted from the total.
-
Processing fee: Online payments made through apps or credit cards are subject to a 3% processing fee.
-
Accepted methods: Payment methods include PayPal, Venmo, CashApp and Apple Pay. Details will be provided once your booking is confirmed.
By paying a deposit and booking an appointment, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these terms and conditions. Adherence to these policies ensures a respectful, safe and productive environment for both you and Andrés.
