A comprehensive list of criteria will be explained as part of a scientific approach to artistic critique, using several art historical examples to demonstrate the process. A short critique session of audience submitted tattoos or paintings, along with a question and answer period, will follow the approximately 1 hour lecture and slide presentation. Students will leave the class with knowledge of how to look at art more deeply and skillfully, in order to troubleshoot problems and ultimately make their own art better.
